USSA members will have an additional opportunity to earn National Ranking List (NRL) points in Alaska this season. The Hickok Duathlon (Pursuit) race, to be held on January 13 as part of the NSAA's AMH Anchorage Cup will be a USSA NRL race.
Cross Country Alaska, including a number of local coaches, have worked with NSAA to make this opportunity possible.
The NRL status of the Hickok will not change the race at all for citizen racers. Those racers who wish to earn NRL points in the USSA event will need to pay a USSA head tax ($4 per person), in addition to the normal race entry fee, when you pick up your bib at race registration.
Many of the top skiers from APUNSC, Alaska Winter Stars, and UAA plan on being there, so it should be a great chance to race against Alaska's top skiers and possibly improve your USSA points.
