Alaska Nordic Racing (ANR) is pleased to announce the expansion of their Junior Based Nordic programs.  ANR is expanding to add a more encompassing year round Anchorage Junior Program and will continue their current Eagle River, Mat-su and Kenai Peninsula Junior programs.  Click article title for more information.

ANR is pleased to announce the addition of our new Head Coach to the Anchorage Program.  Jeff Ellis, former Running and World Cup stand out will lead ANR’s year round junior program.  Jeff joins ANR’s highly qualified coaching staff.

Middle School Program:

ANR is also adding a year round Middle School programs in both Anchorage and Eagle River for athletes ages 11-13. 

Masters Ski Program:

ANR will continue to provide masters ski programs for age 20 and older in both Eagle River and Anchorage.   Sessions are open to all abilities and are located at the Beach Lake Trails in Eagle River and Kincaid and Service in Anchorage.

Program outline and fees:

Alaska Nordic Racing (ANR) is an Individual Year round training program for athletes to excel in the sport of cross country skiing.  ANR athletes and coaches interact year round.  In addition to weekly training, athletes are provided with consultation and meetings with athletes through-out the season.  Training log feedback and monitoring/Short and long term goal setting/equipment/Lactate Testing/Fitness testing

ANR  has a year round program.  Our philosophy is to charge fees and allow families flexibility in case of absence in any part of our segments.  You may pay for the entire year up front or you may choose your segments and pay as you go.  Below is the outlined fee schedule for 2011-2012.  Annual Program Dates run from May 1-April 30

Program outlines and fees cont:

Summer/Fall Training Session:  Summer/fall Session starts May 24 and ends October 30.  It is broken into two sessions.  Session I and Session II.  Older Junior Skiers enroll in 4 day a week sessions.  Younger juniors (middle school aged) enroll in two day a week sessions with an occasional 3^rd day.

Winter Session:  Other than your program fee, there is no winter fees.  We will work closely with your HS coach for training plans, technique work on the weekends.  ANR athletes stay in contact with their coaches year round.  ANR coaches work with your local High Schools.  ANR athletes come together for camps, races and weekend sessions during the winter session.  If you are not in a High School program a winter session will also be available.

General Program Camps and Services:  ANR organizes camps and workouts to compliment your High school season.  Below are the additional training sessions for ANR athletes. These are Separate camps and Race support, typically done at a cost neutral basis (cover expenses).
