Cross Country Alaska is seeking highly qualified and team-oriented coaches to apply for the 2012 Junior Olympic and 2012 Arctic Winter Games - Team Alaska coaching staff. JO Head Coach and JO Team Leader Applications are now due October 31. Remaining JO and AWG XC Coach applications are due November 15. The AWG ski and snowshoe biathlon coach applications are due November 1st (click on the article title for additional information).
Junior Olympics Head Coach This person works in conjunction with the Team Leader and all assistants. This position will lead the team, coordinate coaching duties, waxing, athletes care, meetings and general leadership duties. Head coach experience required.
Junior Olympics Team Leader This person works in conjunction with the head coach. This position includes handling of team logistics, uniform ordering, travel, housing and ground transportation. Coaching, waxing and other duties are also included. Leadership and Team planning required. Aids in planning travel for the following year.
Junior Olympic Assistant Coaches Coach duties include waxing, athlete care, transportation, and various team duties (waxing, travel, driving, logistics, etc.). Areas of expertise and jobs to be identified by strengths of the staff and head coach.
Arctic Winter Games Nordic Ski Coaches Coach duties include waxing, athlete care, supervision, and various team duties (waxing, travel, logistics, etc.). Areas of expertise and jobs to be identified by strengths of the staff and sport coordinator.

. Candidates will be evaluated by the Coach Selection Subcommittee based upon their experience, knowledge, skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
Once selected, all coaches must purchase a USSA Coaching license, if they do not already possess one, and be subject to the background check that is part of procurement that licence. Candidates must be able to travel with the team both to and from the event for which they are selected.

Arctic Winter Games Ski and Snow Shoe Biatholon Coaches
Team Alaska Arctic Winter Games is now accepting applications for male and female coaches for the 2012 Arctic Winter Games Ski and Snow Shoe Biathlon competitions to be held in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada March 4th-10th, 2012. A male and female coach will be selected for each of the two teams.
Applicants must be currently coaching youth biathletes, have valid passports, and be current members of the United States Biathlon Association. Successful applicants must meet all selection criteria and complete all application materials as required by Team Alaska Arctic Winter Games. Application requirements, materials, and guidelines can be found at the Team Alaska Arctic Winter Games website.
