Cross Country Alaska is seeking highly qualified and team-oriented coaches to apply for the 2012 Junior Olympic and 2012 Arctic Winter Games - Team Alaska coaching staff.  JO Head Coach and JO Team Leader Applications are now due October 31.  Remaining JO and AWG XC Coach applications are due November 15.  The AWG ski and snowshoe biathlon coach applications are due November 1st (click on the article title for additional information).

The Besh Cup race series is the premier cross country ski race series in Alaska. Here is some general info about the races.

Beginning with the 2009-2010 season, the statewide CCAK Competition Committee revised the JO Team Selection Criteria to bring 8 (was 6) J2s of each gender and bring 13 J1/OJs (was 15).  Additionally, standards have been raised for OJs (Older Juniors) to make the team.  For full details click on article title.

Two $2,000 awards are available to one male skier and one female skier who are selected to the 2011 Alaska Junior Olympic Team.   In order to apply, athletes must be High School students in Alaska (click article title for more information).

The CCAK Competition Committee is responsible for naming the committee which oversees the application and selection process, and selects final nominees for the Team Alaska coaching staff for the Junior Olympics and Arctic Winter Games, or other event(s) as determined by the CCAK Competition Committee
