Congratulations to this year's Pia-Magrethe Denkwalter Junior Olympic award winners: Alyson McPheters of Chugiak High School and Scott Patterson of South High School!  These two skiers will each recieve a $2,500 award from the Pia-Margrethe Denkwalter Memorial Fund at the Alaska Community Foundation.

This year Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking (AMH) of Anchorage will give two $2,500 awards in Pia Margrethe-Denkewalter's name to skiers who qualify for the Alaskan Junior Nationals Team. 

Pia was a young Alaska outdoor enthusiast and student. She enjoyed nordic skiing , rock climbing, mountaineering , soccer, traveling, academia, reading and more.

Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking (AMH) of Anchorage gives awards in Pia's name to one male and female who qualify for the Alaskan Junior Nationals Team.

Applications must be in before the start of the state high school championships at the end of February, at which point AMH will pick the recipients.
