APUNSC is hosting a five day camp geared for Alaskan Junior and College Skiers June 22nd through June 26th. Participants will depart Girdwood the morning of the 22nd to hike or fly to the Glacier. Departure will be mid-afternoon of the 26th.
Price per person is $750 and includes food, lodging, grooming and gear lifting.
Eagle Glacier Nordic camps are based out of the Thomas Training Center on Eagle Glacier. The training is both effective and convenient with modest elevations of 5200 ft and ski trails only 50 meters from the training facility.
Notes:
· Skiing offered two times a day
· Variable terrain and long trails with 8-12 KM trail depending on conditions
· Participants meet Girdwood Sunday afternoon with the option of hiking in (~2 hrs, depending on group) or you can arrange the fly to the facility (Alpine Air, in Girdwood is our preferred operator).
· Participants are expected to cook and clean with the group. Food is provided.
· The camp is intended for athletes 16 years (J1’s) and older.
· Personal gear needs to be limited to 30 lbs and ski bags to 20 lbs (50 lbs together).
· Teams will need to provide a ratio of one coach for every 10 athletes. Independent athletes are welcome as well.
· Bring good race skis! The snowpack is in excellent condition.
· Half of payment is due at time of booking, the balance to be paid two weeks in advance of arrival at the camp.
