Two $2,000 Awards will be presented this spring to one male and one female who qualify for the 2010 Junior National Team. 

The Pia-Margrethe Denkwalter Memorial Fund at the Alaska Community Foundation and Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking (AMH) of Anchorage are presenting these two awards in honor of Pia Margrethe-Denkewalter 

Pia was a young Alaska outdoor enthusiast and student. She enjoyed nordic skiing , rock climbing, mountaineering , soccer, traveling, academia, reading and more.

Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking (AMH) of Anchorage gives awards in Pia's name to one male and female who qualify for the Alaskan Junior Nationals Team.

Applications must be in before the start of the state high school championships at the end of February, at which point AMH will pick the recipients.
