Team Alaska put on great show at the 2008 Junior Olympics.  Having the races on home turf at Kincaid Park helped to motivate the skiers to strong performances and helped them to win back the Alaska Cup.  Here are some recaps from the week:

Attention AWG hopefuls, one of the four spots on the J2 girls team has been filled with the winner of the WISA (Western/Interior Ski Association) conference.  Sierra Corsetti, from Unalakleet, has qualified for the AWG by winning the WISA conference.

Important note about meeting format: Due to an anticipated large turn-out for Monday's meeting, the format for the meeting will not be a discussion. Instead, the focus will be on allowing everyone a chance to speak and voice their views. Everyone will be given two minutes to stand up and talk about the policy issues.

This is a compilation of all the feedback that CCAK received recently regarding current Junior Olympic policies. The comments are listed, in full, in the order that they were received.

The CCAK Competition Committee is responsible for naming the committee which oversees the application and selection process, and selects final nominees for the Team Alaska coaching staff for the Junior Olympics and Arctic Winter Games, or other event(s) as determined by the CCAK Competition Committee

All J2, J1, and OJ competitors who plan to try out for the Alaska Junior Olympic or Arctic Winter Games Teams MUST have a valid USSA competition license by December 15. Prior members must submit renewal forms before October 15th to avoid a late fee.
