On Monday June 8, KSKA Anchorage's Line One radio program will host Dr. Michael Koehle MD, PhD for a call-in show about Elite Athletes and Cold Weather.  Dr. Koehle is an exercise science researcher and clinician with special interest in sports medicine, exercise physiology, and environmental illness at the University of British Columbia.

 

The program is live from 2-3pm Monday afternoon and repeats at 8pm.  If you miss the program or live outside the KSKA listening area, you can hear the program online anytime at

Fairbanks Cross Country (FXC), the year-round junior training and racing program of the Nordic Ski Club Fairbanks is seeking an assistant coach to work as part of a team of professional and volunteer coaches dedicated to helping local junior skiers get the most out of their skiing experience.

About Cross Country Alaska - Annual Meetings

Join us to celebrate our collective accomplishments from the 2008-2009 ski season, plan the 2009-2010 season, and to develop long term strategies to advance the future of cross country ski racing in Alaska. 

Cross Country Alaska's Board of Directors will be hosting the CCAK annual Spring Summit Sunday April 26th from 9am to 4pm at the ConocoPhillips Building.  Lunch is provided Laughing!  We are also seeking nominations for three seats on our Board of Directors

Junior Olympics Cross Country Skiing Championships in Truckee, California are now complete.  Our Alaskan skiers battled the altitude to bring home numerous individual and relay medals.  Team Alaska finished a respectable 3rd of 10 teams.

 

Top individual finishers include Logan Hanneman (J2 Sprint - Gold, Skate - Gold and Classic - Gold), Becca Rorabaugh (OJ - Skate - Gold and Classic - Bronze), Scott Patterson (J2 Skate - Gold and Classic - Silver), Reese Hanneman (OJ Sprint - Silver, Classic - Gold), Issac Lammers (J2 Sprint - Silver, Skate - Silver), Andrew Dougherty (J1 Classic - Bronze)

The classic interval start and freestyle team sprint events cancelled during the U.S. Championships in Anchorage have been added to the already-scheduled U.S. Distance Championship races in Fairbanks this March 24-29.  Hope to see you there!
