2019 Junior Nationals Coaches Applications Now Being Accepted

Coaches for Team Alaska

The Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage is the host of the 2019 US Ski & Snowboard Junior Nationals Championships. The championships are to be held March 10 – 16, 2019 at Kincaid Park.

CCAK is accepting applications for coaches. New this year is the requirement that all applicants have a current US Ski & Snowboard license and complete SafeSport training. As of March 13, 2017, U.S. Ski & Snowboard adopted the Safe Sport Code; and all US Ski & Snowboard coaches, officials and volunteers are required to complete background checks. Applicants for US Ski & Snowboard licenses will be automatically directed to the SafeSport training program and the National Center for Safety Initiatives Website for the background check. In the past CCAK hasn’t required the US Ski & Snowboard license to be presented until the championships. Beginning this year all registrations must be completed prior to applying to be a Team Alaska coach. Background screening may take several weeks to be completed, so please do not delay the US Ski & Snowboard coaching application process.

Deadlines:

Submit the CCAK coaching application with your 2018-19 US Ski & Snowboard coaching license information.

Applications must be submitted on the CCAK coach application form, and should include a brief cover letter (e-mail cover letter is sufficient) indicating the individual’s interest in coaching Team Alaska. Applications should be submitted electronically, in either PDF or *.doc format. Submissions should be e-mailed to info@crosscountryalaska.org.

Candidates will be evaluated by the CCAK Coach Selection Subcommittee based upon their experience, knowledge, skill, and ability to work as a part of a team.
